Life's simple pleasures

We love having so many parks nearby. This park is right around the corner and Brynli heads right for it when we come outside. I love summertime!

This is Caleb and Brynli's first time running through the sprinklers. They had a great time.

The latest from Caleb & Brynli

Caleb is so sweet. When I get him a drink or something he asks for he replies with "Oh thank-you Mommy!" We are very excited that Caleb is officially potty-trained!! Yeah!! I knew it would be great, but this is really great. We had an interesting experience yesterday when he woke up from taking a nap. He called me into his room and told me he went potty on his pillow. We potty trained him for day and night at the same time - no pull-ups for us. Every once in a while he had an accident at night when we first started - he's been potty training for about four weeks now. Anyway, he told me he went potty on his pillow. A little confused I pulled off his blanket and looked at his pants, but they weren't wet. Then, I realized he had a big wet spot on his pillow from sweat. He was pretty concerned he had gone potty on his pillow, poor kid. I guess he was a little hot while he slept!

Brynli is growing up fast. She is so sweet. She has started to say a few words like daddy, mama, doggy, uh-oh, ta-da, hi and maybe a few others. One that makes me laugh is she sings "ashes ashes" from Ring around the rosie. I think Mark and I were both a little surprised that that was one of her first words. If she enjoys singing I'm pretty sure she'll have a great soprano voice. Last time we checked her squeals were only 7 notes from the highest note on the piano!

I got this great video of Caleb's mad skills dribbling a basketball a couple days ago!

friends

One of the great things about living in the Salt Lake area is we get to see some of our friends that we haven't seen for a while! We had a great weekend. We went to Marissa and Jake's little girl Sydney's birthday party on Saturday. The kids got to go swimming in a little kiddie pool. Caleb had a blast once all of the adults went inside. He waited until they were all inside and then had a great time going down the slide and playing in the water. I'm not sure why he waited, but I'm glad he had so much fun in the water! Brynli of course loved their dog. She let him out a few times, so they eventually had to take him downstairs. Marissa and Jake just moved to Taylorsville, which is a lot closer to us. Yeah!!

Brandon and Leslie and their little girl Clara came to our house. I think Brandon just became one of Caleb's most favorite people. He had so much fun kicking and throwing balls and playing baseball with him. Clara and Brynli are just a week apart - at a very cute stage! Brandon and Leslie went to USU with us. The exciting part is that Brandon is most likely going to start working where Mark works at Mona Vie in the tax department! How fun for them! We're excited for that.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to my dad and Dave and to my wonderful husband Mark. I am so blessed to have such great men in my life. Mark is such a great daddy. When we were dating I noticed he put raising a family and being a good dad high in his priorities. I love that about him. Rather than sitting and watching TV when he gets home from work, I love that he spends time with his family and plays with our kids. I am so thankful for him!
My dad and Mark's dad are great examples and I appreciate their love and support so much. I took my Dad out to lunch for his 70th birthday in April (we also had a great surprise party for him). It was one of the best times I've had with my Dad. I think he had fun too. I like what he said after - "You don't know many 70 year old guys who go out to lunch for their birthday with their daughter in a corvette!" You would not guess that my dad is 70. It's awesome.
I captured this sweet moment yesterday of Mark and Caleb sitting under a tree together in our front yard. I love you Mark! Thank-you for being a great Dad.

dancing

Mark and I went dancing last night. We had a blast. I love dancing! I'm so glad I married a guy I can do so many fun things with. Here's a couple pictures from the night.
